Help us win funding for PV panels on our roof!

The Community Centre recently submitted to the M&S Energy Fund a bid for funding to pay for PV panels to go on our huge SE facing roof. We heard recently that we had been shortlisted and of course were overjoyed!  However the funding is far from secured as we now have to seek votes for our scheme in competition with others throughout the UK.  To this end we have set up a Facebook page  HERE.

,We also had fun recently creating a video with local children to help promote our cause and get the community talking.   We'd like to stress to all our friends and supporters, and all the wider community, that although you have recently seen wonderful improvements in the community centre and although the centre's future has never looked so bright, we have now spent the funding secured for that renovation work and are now still dependent on income from hirings and the events, cafe, Flicks screenings etc, we are still all volunteers working flat out tokeep the doors open and e need to make the building more sustainable if it is to continue providing a venue for so many local community activities.  Those PV panels could help us slash our energy bills and greatly reduce our carbon footprint.  Go alon to www.mandsenergyfund.com/projects/keeping-the-lights-on-pv-panels-for-knighton-and-district-community-centre, our campaign page at the M&S Energy Fund website, and read more about our bid - then PLEASE give us your vote!
