All those of you who have been suffering zumba withdrawals have the chance of a one-off fix next Tuesday, September 16th. Katy Liscombe, who is qualified to do all sorts of zumba-ish stuff and runs classes in Newtown - check out her website - is testing the waters with a single session from 6 to 7pm. We can't make it any later, folks, as Teme Spirits take over the hall from 7.
If you're free at that time, come along and take part. Perhaps Katy will be wanting to make the arrangement more permanent. Sad news for Knighton's zumba fans: Jody Price has decided to call a halt to the Monday evening zumba sessions, in spite of their obvious popularity. She has travelled quite a distance each week to run the sessions, is really enthusiastic about them and is very sorry to let down her zumbaites.
Which leads to the appeal: does anyone out there know a good zumba session leader who could take over at the centre? If you do, pleeease message us via the contact page! Make a note in your diary to come along to the Community Market on september 13th, when we'll be having a bit of a special event to a) celebrate that the kids are back at school and b) have one more bit of late summer fun in spite of that chill in the air and the nights drawing in. Back with us to sing a few songs in the cafe we have Rapsquillion (You don't know rapsquillion? Follow the link and you can read about them and listen to a bit of their music) . We'll also have a children's art and craft workshop going on in the Reynolds Room for just a small charge to cover cost of paints and other materials. The local fire service will be in attendance outside on car washing duty to raise money for the service's own charity. And if you've a sweet tooth you can find what's so damn special about Candy Fleece - like candy floss but er.... even better.
All in all, it should be a great morning's shopping and socialising, with 20+ stalls of crafts and local foods. Or you can push a trolley round a supermarket. Your choice. |
