There are lots of events coming up in the weeks ahead, of which the following is just a selection.  Check out the Knighton Community Centre Facebook page for more.

Back today, Monday, for 10 weeks and happy to take new members, the Knighton Painting and Sketching Group is led by experienced Adult Community Learning Tutor Audrey Bradley. All abilities are welcome and there are two sessions, one from 10am to 12pm, then another from 1 to 3pm. Cost is £65 for the whole 10 week course. If you're interested phone Audrey on 01544 350369.

This Thursday in the bar, there's top class Americana and Bluegrass from The Growling Old Men. This is a super-rare chance to catch Ben Winship and John Lowell during a short UK tour. Tickets are £10 on the door or reserve tickets by phoning 01544 350407 or 01547 528315 .

Also on Thursday the Welsh Blood Donation team is at work all day in the Hall. Attendance hours are 10am to 1.30pm and then 3.00pm to 7.00pm.

The Powys Road Safety Unit is at the centre on Tuesday 22nd September to run an informal classroom-based Mature Motoring advice and information session for drivers over the age of 55 who want to update their road and Highway Code knowledge.
The session, from 10am to 12pm is completely free and takes place in the Reynolds Room. This session can then be followed up at a future date with a free one-hour practical driving session aimed at helping older drivers to drive with more confidence and safety. Assessments are carried out by Approved Driving Instructors and can be taken in your own vehicle. If you want to join the session, phone 01597-826979.

Next up in our latest Flicks in the Sticks season, on Sunday September 27th, we have two completely different screenings. First up, with doors opening 2.30 ready for a 3pm start, we have "Shaun the Sheep"! £4 adults and £2 children, it's sure to be wildly popular with all ages, so don't be late.  Following that, at 7.30pm  (doors open 7) there's the 2015 remake of "Far From the Madding Crowd", tickets £4 on the door.

Highly rated acoustic trio Whalebone are playing live in the Community Centre bar on Friday October 2nd. Tickets are on sale NOW from the Tower House Gallery for £8, online from here or phone 07751221487.
