Another quiet weekend coming up...

Crazily busy weekend coming up at the Community Centre. On Friday night there's a Charity dance with music by Curtis Magee and Andy Morris- all proceeds go to Riding for the Disabled and tickets are £10 from Janet Thomas on 01547-530203.

On Saturday morning it's the twice-monthly Community Market, this time including a free barbecue offering samples of lamb and pork in homemade bread, and other tasty offerings, all from the market's stallholders.

Then, with hardly a pause for breath, we set up as a checkpoint and food and rest stop for the 4 day King Offa's Dyke running race, which starts in Chepstow on the 23rd and passes through Knighton over Saturday night on the way to Prestatyn! The organisers expect finishers in Prestatyn on the 27th... If I was taking part that'd be 27th December, not September.  For more on this event, check out

And to finish a full-on weekend the monthly auction kicks off at around 1.00pm on Sunday. Phone Neil on 07539-428479 for details and to put items into the auction.
And all of this Community Centre activity is coordinated by a tiny group of volunteers beavering away in the background, mostly cheerfully... except when Knightonians tell us that nothing ever happens at the Comm!
