Mojo magazine has raved about how "the rootsy vibrancy explodes around Jamie Smith's accordion". Froots magazine has called them "powerful, authentic and a tad wonderful". We think so too - and if you come to the Community Centre on December 3rd you can find out what's so special about Jamie Smith's Mabon. Tickets are now on sale at £10, which will get you a brimming bowl of homemade soup and hunk of bread pre-band. If you are in the area, get your tickets from Spar supermarket in Broad Street. If that's not convenient, click on the Skiddle logo below. And if you want to organise a group to share a table, table bookings can be made on 01547 520871.
Fancy a bit of high-energy Celtic folk played by a band that is putting Welsh roots music on the World stage? Then mark December 3rd in your diary as The Comm will be hosting a show by Jamie Smith's Mabon. If they're a new name to you, you really must check out their website . Having seen the frenzy of dancing and the brilliant response they received when they played this year's Womad Festival, the planet's biggest showcase of what's happening on the World Music scene, I can guarantee a great night at the Comm. The ticket price of £10 will include a supper of homemade soup and bread rolls - and anyone who tasted the homemade curries on offer at our recent comedy night will know that some great food is produced in our new kitchens. Look out for more details about ticket availability nearer the gig.
This blog is maintained by Chris Plant on behalf of the Management Committee to bring you all the other bits of Comm news and info that don't quite fit anywhere else.
